This figure (right) shows the price change for the Dow Jones Defense Index since it was added in 2004 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average for the same period. This subsector, defense, does not include some of the companies that have the largest contracts with the Defense Department. For example, Lockheed Martin and Boeing are both located in the Dow Jones Aerospace Index (and the Dow Jones Aerospace and Defense Index). |
